Affiliate Disclosure: 121212.reviews operates an affiliate program. Reviewers earn commissions on purchases made through their unique review links. This page explains exactly how that program works and what reviewers agree to when participating.
1. Program Overview
The 121212.reviews Affiliate Program allows approved reviewers to earn commission income by publishing honest product and service reviews that include their unique affiliate tracking links. When a reader clicks a reviewer's link and completes a qualifying purchase within the tracking window, the reviewer earns a commission on that sale.
Participation in the Affiliate Program is subject to these terms, the main Terms of Service, and any supplemental terms applicable to specific 121212 ecosystem sites.
2. Eligibility
To participate in the Affiliate Program, you must:
- Be an approved reviewer on 121212.reviews
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have a valid payout method on file (bank transfer or supported payment platform)
- Comply with all applicable laws governing affiliate marketing in your jurisdiction
- Not be a resident of a jurisdiction where participation in affiliate programs is prohibited by law
3. Tracking and Attribution
- Tracking window: Affiliate cookies track purchases for 30 days from the date of the initial click on your affiliate link.
- Attribution model: Last-click attribution. If a reader clicks multiple affiliate links before purchasing, the commission is awarded to the most recent affiliate link clicked within the 30-day window.
- Self-referrals: Commissions are not paid on purchases you make through your own affiliate links. Self-referrals will be reversed.
- Tracking failures: We are not liable for missed commissions due to cookie blocking, browser privacy settings, ad blockers, or technical failures outside our control. We will investigate and correct verified tracking errors when reported promptly.
4. Commission Rates
Commission rates vary by product category and the specific 121212 ecosystem site from which the purchase originates. Current rates are communicated directly to approved reviewers through the reviewer dashboard (coming Phase 2). Rates may be adjusted with 30 days' notice to active reviewers.
As a general structure:
- Physical products: commission on the product purchase price, excluding taxes and shipping
- Digital products and subscriptions: commission on the first payment (recurring subscription commissions subject to specific program terms)
- Event tickets: commission on the ticket face value
- Legal resources and services: commission rates specified per category
5. Payouts
- Payment schedule: Commissions are paid monthly, on or before the 15th of the following month for all commissions confirmed in the prior calendar month.
- Minimum payout threshold: A minimum balance of $25.00 is required before a payout is issued. Balances below this threshold roll over to the following month.
- Commission hold period: Commissions are held for 15 days after the purchase to allow for customer return/refund windows. Commissions on returned purchases will be reversed.
- No cap: There is no cap on monthly earnings. You earn on every qualifying purchase your links drive.
- Currency: All payouts are issued in U.S. dollars.
- Tax reporting: Reviewers earning $600 or more in a calendar year will receive a Form 1099-NEC. You are responsible for reporting and paying taxes on affiliate income in accordance with applicable law.
6. Disclosure Requirements
Participation in the Affiliate Program requires full compliance with FTC disclosure guidelines (16 CFR Part 255) and any applicable laws in your jurisdiction:
- Every review page containing affiliate links must include a clear, conspicuous disclosure that the reviewer may earn a commission on purchases made through links in the review.
- Disclosures must appear before the first affiliate link — not buried at the bottom of the page or in fine print.
- Suggested disclosure language: "This review contains affiliate links. If you purchase through my link, I may earn a commission at no additional cost to you."
- Platform-generated review pages on 121212.reviews include a standard disclosure automatically. Reviewers who republish or reference their reviews on external platforms (blogs, social media, YouTube) are responsible for adding appropriate disclosures on those platforms as well.
Failure to disclose affiliate relationships is grounds for immediate removal from the program and reversal of pending commissions.
7. Prohibited Practices
Reviewers may not:
- Use paid advertising (Google Ads, Facebook Ads, etc.) that directly links to affiliate URLs without prior written approval
- Bid on branded keywords for 121212 ecosystem sites in paid search
- Use spam, unsolicited email, or pop-up advertising to drive affiliate traffic
- Misrepresent products, services, or their own experience with reviewed items
- Use cookie stuffing, forced clicks, or other artificial methods to generate affiliate credits
- Offer cash back, rebates, or incentives to readers in exchange for clicking affiliate links
- Publish fake reviews for products they have not personally used
8. Program Modifications and Termination
MCM Enterprises reserves the right to:
- Modify commission rates, tracking windows, or payout terms with 30 days' notice to active participants
- Terminate any reviewer's participation in the Affiliate Program at any time for violation of these terms
- Suspend or discontinue the Affiliate Program in its entirety with 60 days' notice
Upon termination, any commissions earned prior to termination for confirmed, non-reversed purchases will be paid on the next regular payout cycle, subject to minimum thresholds.
9. Relationship of Parties
Reviewers in the Affiliate Program are independent contractors, not employees, agents, partners, or joint venturers of MCM Enterprises. You are solely responsible for your own taxes, business expenses, and compliance with applicable laws.
